The Holiday Week
Ok so you have the turkey, or 2 like in our case, you can read about that here (ha). Most of the holiday food has been bought and is currently in the refrigerator and completely untouchable until family arrives. If you’re like me you have a list for desserts, the main course and a running list of foods you have to get last minute from the grocery store. If I’m being honest, I also have a list going for what all needs to be done around the house.
Anyways, every single year the holidays come and go and everything goes as perfect as we’d imagined… well sort of unless you’re like us and we inevitably turn away from the oven for a hot second and burn something like oh I don’t know green bean casserole or macaroni and cheese. We eat until we want to put our yoga pants/pajama pants on and veg until the next meal (ha). Just thinking about this makes me happy!
Well Intentioned Hostess
I always try to think of everything before my family arrives. My lists usually are in full swing and I may or may not be in full out MOMBIE mode.
You might be a MOMBIE IF you:
- A sleep deprived supermom
- You have dark circles under your eyes
- Feeds on caffeine and sweet little sticky kisses
- Wanders aimlessly
- Get’s super sidetracked when doing simple tasks
- Forgets what she was doing… regularly
*Warning – If you MUST Approach do so With Caution.
*Feel free to have me add other MOMBIE facts ha… 😉
I’m partly teasing… In all honesty though, there is some truth to that list at least for me. The irony is the holidays are about gathering together as a family, being present all while making lots and lots of memories.
But what about that time in between when everyone’s just hanging out? Every year I’m always so well intentioned to get a few new board games. I sat down this morning and made a list of some of our favorite games.
