A Letter to My Navy Veteran

United States Navy Veteran

Happy Veteran’s Day

God Bless all those that have served and are currently serving our country at home and abroad. God bless our families that are at home waiting for their loved ones safe arrival home. Thank you! Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.”

                                                                                     ~President Harry Truman

Man did we miss you when you were gone Bri…

To My Husband,

It wasn’t always easy being a military wife. I can remember crying myself to sleep many nights. I would lay awake thinking about the vastness of the sky and the awesomeness of God. It still amazes me that despite the distance if we stood outside and looked up no matter how far away we were we were still staring up at the same big sky.

I spent a lot of time with our little Zachman alone teaching him all the things from talking to walking, letters and numbers to potty training. Zachary and I to this day have a very special bond. I’m thankful for his kind, sweet, sensitive spirit. He wiped more tears from my eyes than I care to even admit. God definitely knew what He was doing when He gave us our little man.

Zachary and I spent many days carefully crafting care packages, writing love letters and documenting our every day life. I can remember washing new white t-shirts and undergarments so that they smelled like home. Do you remember receiving the letters I wrote carefully spritzed with Victoria Secrets Love Spell? God we missed you when you were gone. They were some of the hardest/longest days of my life.

All this to say, I’m proud of the sacrifices that you made for our great country. I’m proud of your ability to provide for our family while serving our country and continuing your education even while out to sea. The life we have today is a direct reflection of your service and commitment to not only our country but our family as well. I’m proud to be your wife Brian and I thank God for you.
