Obsessing About My Health: 80 Day Obsession Obsessed

I think I’m about to get Obsessed…

80 Day Obsession obsessed that is. I haven’t mentioned anything to do with fitness on here in a very long time. The truth is I haven’t been working out or even eating healthy. I just haven’t been caring. Ugh not caring has not done me any good.

OBSESSED is defined as, “to think about something unceasingly or persistently.” –

Autumn Calabrese’s new program 80 Day Obsession comes out tomorrow… In the past I’ve done Autumn’s 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme program successfully. I averaged a 12-15 lb weight loss with each program? I am at the point where I need to make some pretty big changes and start taking care of myself. So alas I will begin this program soon. I had planned to start it today with the rest of the Beachbody community but woke up with severe sinus issues (who needs to breath anyway (ugh)) and a puking child. Anyways, this is the plan, I will begin 80 Day Obsession in the next few days.

80 Day Obsession

In a nutshell the 80 Day Obsession is an 80 day program designed to challenge people to become the healthiest, most dedicated version of themselves. I think the thing that sold me most on this new program is the fact that Autumn places a significant amount of emphasis on self care. I feel like this is my year to really focus on me.

Emphasis is placed on working out, timed-nutrition, reseed day and self-care. During the 80 Day Obsession Autumn essentially takes you by the hand and tells you when to eat to get the best possible results. I notice for me, I struggle with eating. In the morning I drink coffee and then before I know it it’s 11am. With this program you learn how to time your portion containers (same as the 21 day fix) to help maximize energy, encourage healthy fat loss, muscle recovery and growth. I cannot even wait to see what kind of results I’ll get as a result of healthy, smart eating and actually having a supportive theory behind my eating – intentional eating.

I don’t know why but I am literally dreading this. This is a necessary evil.

Step 2: Calculate your calorie target.

What’s cool with this program is you re-calculate your calorie target at  the beginning of each phase. There are 3 phases in the 80 Day Obsession.

I haven’t looked closely enough but, it seems real similar to the 21 Day fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme Eating Plan. I could be really wrong here. The “refeed” section is new. This step will help you determine your eating plan.

The 80 Day Obsession is cool because each plan A-F has their own unique eating plan based on your specific calorie target. For me the eating plan helps take the guesswork out of how to break the food up throughout the day. The containers aren’t a new concept to me as I’ve said before I am not new to the colored containers. This is good news for people like me… I struggle with eating enough food throughout the day. I drink way too much coffee and Diet Dr Pepper.


This program seems to rely heavily on Shakeology and Beachbody’s Performance Line. At this point in time I need to get in to the groove of working out before I invest in all of these supplements. The cost is a little intimidating. I want to prove to myself that I’ll do the workouts before I make that investment… I am a little sad to start the program without the supplements that are suggested so we shall see.
